As a knowledge-led practice, research is an integral part of our design process. We seek to bring together our experience and research in a manner that creates unparalleled expertise. In this way, we can add value to clients and the wider community in a responsible and innovative way. Our staff have a rich array of skills and knowledge on which to draw, and continuous learning is promoted through regular internal meetings as well as presentations from guest speakers. Through these means we are able to keep our knowledge up to date and develop innovative and creative approaches to design across all sectors.
Each sector group has a coordinated programme for identifying key learning opportunities from projects. They also draw up individual research programmes to promote the continued delivery of architectural excellence and innovative solutions, where appropriate through collaboration with specialists from other organisations. Sector coordinators meet regularly to share information and combine their knowledge and expertise. A number of themes are considered cross-sectorally - design, sustainability, community, regeneration, mixed-use, international and corporate social responsibility - bringing new insight to the design process. This approach allows us continually to improve our work and make a significant contribution to wider industry knowledge. |
